Hope for weary hearts. That is what this first Sunday of Advent is all about. In this message called “HOPE,” part of our Experiencing Advent series, we walk through the familiar but powerful account in the section of the Bible called Luke 2:1–14 and see how the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem proves that God keeps His old promises, makes new promises, and reveals future promises we can count on.
Built around the foundational verse in Romans 15:13, this sermon explores three main movements: the hope of old promises kept, the hope of new promises made, and the hope of future promises revealed. You will hear a clear explanation of what it means to be born again to a living hope through Jesus, how that hope speaks into our confusion about identity, truth, and the value of human life, and how followers of Jesus on Cape Cod can live with courage instead of fear. Whether you are already a follower of Jesus or you are still exploring faith, our prayer is that God uses this service to lift your eyes to Christ and fill you with confident hope.
