Eben Darling
Executive Pastor
Hi there! I’m Eben Darling from Cape Cod, MA, happily
married with three grown children. I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and outdoor
adventures. Recently, God answered my prayers by gifting me a new Information
Technology (IT) job, bringing my commute down from 5 hours to a fulfilling
position at Joint Base Cape Cod. I served in the United States Marines, and now
I serve in the MA Army National Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3) in the
Signal Corps.
As I stand at a crossroads, I’m contemplating
retirement from the MA Army National Guard. Balancing four roles—Executive
Pastor, devoted family man, IT System Administrator, and CW3 in the MA Army
National Guard—has led me to reflect on my true calling. I recently shared with
my wife that while I excel in IT, my true passion lies in mentoring and
pursuing a deeper relationship with God by teaching others and studying His
word.
I am dedicated to serving God, family, and country,
which has inspired me to enroll at Liberty University for a Master's in
Divinity. This journey will enable me to transition from my MA Army National
Guard role to that of an Army Chaplain while continuing to thrive in IT as a
civilian. My aspiration is to serve God more openly within my community, all
while cherishing my commitment to the MA Army National Guard for over 25 years.
One of my favorite passages is Numbers 6:24-26 (ESV):
'The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his
face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance
upon you and give you peace.'
This beautiful passage inspires one of my favorite
songs, “The Blessing,” by Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes. I pray for God’s abundant
blessings for you all!
